All Caught Up!

Yay! I am finally caught up! I surpassed the daily word goal yesterday. Now I'm at 34,468 words. Yay! I'm going to make it. I really am.

But!

Somehow, summer always manages to catch me in its tight grip. I plan to be totally relaxed, do nothing, sign up for JulNo. And then all this STUFF comes along.

For example: diving. Practice plus a meet on Sunday. Also, friends. Yes, must be social. And UCLA. Dad's taking me on a tour. And of course, the ever tempting beach. Well, what else does one do in SoCal?

See what I mean? Somehow, summer always manages to get me all caught up in a net of stuff I just HAVE to do.

So that's what I think the real challenge of JulNo, of any WriMo, is. It's not to write 50,000 words. Anyone with no life can do that in 30-31 days. The real challenge is to make time to write. To force yourself to get into your craft, to not abandon it for all the stuff that you think is "more important."

I accept that challenge.

And I'm off to try to meet it.
